Sham Aktar - 7th Dan is the Shotokan JKA Academy's chief instructor . Originally a fan of Bruce Lee as a Child, he got his early inspiration in wanting to learn martial arts watching  Bruce Lee and Samurai movies. Since early childhood, being rather small,he grew up in very challenging times, his high School had a reputation of having some of the roughest, toughest bullies in the neighbourhood, so naturally he had to put up with a lot of tough competition every day of his school life & often ended up  trying to prove himself in front of the 'Big bullies' in order to survive his School days. He never backed away from a fight or any challenge, even though many times he got beaten severely. After watching Bruce Lee film trailers in the early 1970's, and wanting to become like him & emulate him he began to learn Martial arts to become physically strong, and to keep himself physically & mentally challenged. He tried out many combat sports & martial arts at that time such as Boxing, Judo, Wing Chun,Taekwondo, and many others with some of his friends. His friends However seemed to quit karate over a short time and he found himself being stuck to learning Karate all by himself.
This he now realises was the best thing that ever happened to him, as karate pushed his physical &  mental potentials to the limit, and over the next course of decades of consistent training, including many trips to China, Japan,Malaysia, Singapore to train with the world's best masters of Karate & other martial arts he was able to develop his karate martail arts skills in a structured manner. 
Currently Shamim Aktar is a 7th Dan,and is still very much active and passionate in passing on his many decades of karate & martial arts experience to his dedicated & commited students at the Shotokan JKA Academy.  He feels this is his legacy &  contribution towards the positive human development of individuals through traditional shotokan karate in his community. As the ultimate goal of shotokan karate is to develop to become a good human being. He tries to simplify all that he has learned in his over 54 years for his up and coming students with much patience & enthusiasm, in order to make them the best people they can be.  For those karate people that know or heard of the former famous legendary Masters of Shotokan JKA Karate, Shamim Aktar has been personally taught by the world's very best top karate masters. These include :

Which enables anyone to make great progress in shotokan JKA Karate.
