Shotokan JKA Academy is affiliated to the Japan Karate Association (WF) , It is dedicated to teaching traditional shotokan karate JKA with a special emphasis on the dynamic, personal karate experience of Shamim Aktar 7th Dan . Our high quality karate instruction allows official best technical standards of JKA Karate for our students. We emphasize the following aspects in our training :

• Such as : Taekwondo, Kyokushinkai karate, Wadoryu  etc.....their founders learned under Gichin Funakoshi the founder of Shotokan JKA Karate style as students.

​Quick Bio:

 Shamim Aktar  7th Dan - is the head trainer/coach/instructor of Shotokan JKA Academy. He was taught by some of the highest level karate masters in shotokan JKA karate in japan.  He was graded by a JKA masters panel consisting of Sensei's Oishi 8th Dan, Kawasoe 8th Dan, & Naito 8th Dan ... some of the highest level japanese instructors to emerge from the JKA Japan.

He has over 54 years of Karate & martial arts experience. Inspired by his martial arts hero Bruce Lee his early years,he has had a passion for karate & martial arts and wanted to become fast & powerful, just like Bruce Lee when he was young. Thus he began training in many traditional & modern martial arts,including Taekwondo & Kick-Boxing, of which he is a 1st Degree/Dan Black Belt, (with Master Heel Il Cho's Taekwondo organisation). In his younger years he also took instruction & trained in Aikido,Judo,Jeet Kune-Do,Yang style Taichi Chuan & brazilian jiu Jitsu.

 

In Shotokan JKA Karate, he has trained extensively with the world's leading JKA karate masters in Japan at the Japan Karate Association, JKA, Tokyo, Japan. seeing the development of Shotokan karate today, he is dismayed to find that it is losing its original aunthencity of the ichigeki hissatsu and hence becoming more watered down. His goal is to revive the true way of training of the old school traditional Shotokan JKA Karate masters, as he himself has learned, & to simplify their teachings & concepts for his students, in order to make them the best they can be at the Shotokan JKA Academy.

After over 54 years of practice,analysis, & synthesis of all of his original masters' teachings & essential learning key points, and combining his own research and experience,Shamim Aktar sensei has devised a simplified yet intense course of Black Belt Excellence for his students which encompasses all the essential teachings, techniques, & concepts of his original JKA masters of JKA karate, and guarantee's anyone with average ability to master this art easily in the most effective way ever !!.
