Shotokan JKA Academy is a Japan Karate Association affiliated Academy, dedicated to teaching traditional shotokan karate exactly as it has been passed down through the generations but with a special personal touch of Shamim Aktar 7th Dan. Our instruction follows official technical standards emnphasizing :

​Quick Bio:

 Shamim Aktar sensei 7th Dan - is the head trainer/coach/instructor of Shotokan JKA Academy.  He was graded by a JKA masters panel consisting of Sensei's Oishi 8th Dan, Kawasoe 8th Dan, & Naito 8th Dan.

He has over 54 years of Karate & martial arts experience. Inspired by his martial arts role model Bruce Lee in his early years,he has had a passion for karate & martial arts and wanted to become just like Bruce Lee. He has trained in many traditional & modern martial arts,including Taekwondo & Kick-Boxing, of which he is a 1st Degree/Dan Black Belt, (with Master Heel Il Cho's Taekwondo organisation). In his younger years he also took instruction & trained in Aikido,Judo,Jeet Kune-Do,Yang style Taichi Chuan & jiu Jitsu.

 

In his practice of Shotokan JKA Karate, he has trained extensively with the world's leading first & second generation JKA karate masters travelling as far as China, Malaysia, &  Japan to learn from the best of the best. His goal is to revive the true spirit of traditional Shotokan JKA Karate for his students,as taught by his original JKA masters & to simplify their teachings & concepts. After over 54 years of practice,analysis, & synthesis of all of his original masters' teachings & essential learning key points, Shamim Aktar sensei has devised a course of Black Belt Excellence for his students which encompasses all the teachings, techniques, & concepts of his original JKA masters and pioneers of JKA karate, and guarantee's anyone with average ability to become a strong,fit, healthy, and a  dynamic Black Belt in Shotokan JKA Karate style over a course of several years.
